I accept that the organizers and their agents cannot be held responsible for any injury or loss, however caused. I am fully aware of the risks involved and the degree of fitness required to take part. Mountain bike racing is a demanding sport and I agree that I am fully capable of completing events organized by the Malta Mountain Bike Association (M.M.B.A).  Besides this, Mountain bike races pose various hazards, which I acknowledge (rough or uneven terrain, sharp drops and turns, obstacle avoidance, handling or jumping).

I also declare that I am also familiar with the race course.

 

By signing/accepting this disclaimer, you acknowledge/confirm that:

• All M.M.B.A. events take place in accordance with the UCI/MCF rules with regard to competitions and the conduct required of athletes. Any breach of the rules may result in you being disqualified from this and further M.M.B.A. events, without refund. By entering this event I agree to abide by those rules.

• Any entrant found to be serving a banning period from any sport that has signed up to the World Anti-Doping Agency code is also banned from M.M.B.A. events, and his/her entry will be barred without refund. MMBA fully supports the WADA; sport should be pursued for enjoyment and be fair.

• M.M.B.A. is not obliged to provide any race marshals and that I will take all required precautionary measures (proper look out, slowing down if necessary) whilst participating in this event so as to ensure my own safety and that of third parties.

• The event is being conducted on public roads/pathways to which third parties (whether driving, walking, horse riding etc) have access. When on public roads the Highway Code is applicable, even when racing, I agree to adhere to the instructions of the Highway Code. I confirm that my bike is road worthy and I am aware that the wearing of a helmet is mandatory.

• I consider myself a competent rider and am capable of completing this event.

• I do not have any ongoing medical conditions and I have consulted my GP who has confirmed that I can compete in these events.

• I shall be liable for any damages/losses suffered or occasioned by any of my actions (whether to a third party and/or another participant in an M.M.B.A. event). I hereby confirm that I shall hold the M.M.B.A. harmless against any damages/losses which it may suffer as a result of my actions of whatsoever nature.

If unsure about this any events organized by the M.M.B.A. you should contact the race director. These events are a serious undertaking and entering it should be done so only by those capable of completing the distance within the time limits proscribed. If you have any doubts about your ability to do this then you should not enter the events.
